Delusional Mayor Pete Defends Abortion with the Bible

It might surprise you to know some people find it hard to believe Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana is a God-fearing man. But he is, indeed. And he will repeatedly remind you of the fact as he continues his race for the White House.

His devout faith is a subject of nearly every speech, interview, or even mere comment. But exactly why is it so hard to believe that this man is a true Christian, other than the fact that he is gay?

For many, it winds down to his absolute support of abortion and pro-choice. However, like just about any of his beliefs, he has biblical proof that it is ok.

Did you know that the Bible says abortion is allowable? I know I didn’t.

On Friday, the Indiana Mayor proved us all wrong. Or at least he tried and failed. He appeared on “The Breakfast Club” Friday morning, and like he always does, he touted his Christian faith and began to expound on it.

Most of what he said was along the same lines of things he has said several times before. He began by berating Vice President Mike Pence, also of Indiana, for his “rigid” faith and went on to claim that he believed God and his Son were Democrats.

According to Buttigieg, “every other word that comes out of the mouth of Christ is about things like helping those in need.” Yes, because only liberals are known for their kind acts towards the helpless. I’m sure what Jesus meant by “helping people” is that the government needs to step in, take from hard-working citizens, and give it to those who won’t work for it. Not.

But then Buttigieg took the conversation in a direction that differs slightly from his typical Christian theology. He began to talk about abortion, “which is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think about morally,” he stated.

Not really, you either agree, or you don’t.

For many that are pro-choice and pro-abortion, the idea is that abortion is ok because the child being carried is, in fact, not a child or baby yet. To them, there is no life yet to take. It is merely a cell that is growing, much like cancer and so is perfectly acceptable to get rid of.

For some, it needs to have a heartbeat to be alive. For others, it has to be a certain age or size. And for Mayor Pete, it has to breathe.

He said on Friday, “there’s a lot of parts of the Bible that talk about how life begins with a breath, and so even that is something we can interpret differently.”

As usual, his answer is not all that descriptive or even logical.

Most likely, Buttigieg is referring to the well-known passages about God breathing life into Adam, the first man. In Genesis 2:7, God “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and he became a living being.”

In this case, life did begin with a breath. But this is an unusual case; he is the first man, the one to start it all. There was no woman before him to give birth. Therefore, the beginning of life in a woman’s womb cannot be measured by the same results.

When a child is born, no one breathes life into it. He or she is already alive and typically comes out kicking and screaming. They already have their mother’s oxygen and breath in their system.

Furthermore, there are plenty of verses that mention that a child is a living creation long before they breathe on their own for the first time.

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.”
Luke 1:41 “When Elizabeth Hearth Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Psalm 139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
These, plus more, incite a God that created life within the womb, not after it was born.

But he also made laws about killing or injuring unborn children. In Exodus 21:22-25, God says, “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and… if there is a serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.”

Therefore, abortion is murder.
